acr / Acrylics - are a type of thermoplastic, and are transparent and opaque in varied colors.
dc / Diamond Cut – cuts in the
g / Gauge – for the purpose of this site, the word gauge is used to refer to the thickness of body jewellery. In this instance sizes work in reverse, meaning that higher numbers 16g are thinner in diameter than say 6g . Body jewellery gauges usually range in size from 16g (commonly used for eyebrow piercing) and 14g (commonly used for belly button, nipple and most other piercings) to increase in size going down in number by 2 ( ie. – 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 0 to 00g ) after which jewellery then goes to actual measurements such as ½ inch and larger (commonly used for ears tongue and exotics).
ox /Oxidized Silver – pieces that have been darkened (oxidized) then surface polished to pick up the detail in the work.
Sterling Silver – silver (99.9% fine) a malleable precious metal commonly alloyed with 7.5% copper (a base metal) for hardness.
Surgical Stainless Steel – is an alloy of iron, carbon, chromium, molybdenum, and nickel used in the making of body jewellery.
Titanium - is a light, strong, lustrous, corrosion -resistant metal (including resistance to sea water and chlorine)
